What do you know about Radon gas?
Did you know that your house could emit a higher level of Radon gas than the recommended safety levels?
Did you know that Radon gas is second only to cigarette smoke in causing lung cancer?
I didn’t know any of this until unfortunate circumstances taught me a valuable lesson. Now I have made it my mission to tell people all about this deadly gas and how to avoid it!
Radon gas is a radioactive gas that is released from the decay of uranium in rock, soil and water. You can not see it, smell it or taste it – but if it is in your home it can make you very ill! Radon gas is a carcinogenic, which means it is directly responsible for causing cancer – in most cases lung cancer.
It does exist everywhere, emitted from the earths crust mainly spreading in to the air we breath all the time, but in certain buildings and houses that amount can reach dangerous levels and the best way to find out if you are safe is to buy a Radon Detector. It is a very heavy gas and therefore it has a natural tendency to collect in low, poorly ventilated places, like basements for example.
I am sure you will be relieved to know that you can easily protect yourself and your loved ones from this invisible enemy though!
You can get a short term Radon detector, that is left in the building for 2-90 days then packaged up and sent to a lab for testing. The long term Radon detector is left in the building for more than 90 days.
You can also get a digital Radon detector like the Safety Siren Pro Series HS71512 3 Radon Gas Detector. It is the only EPA evaluated Radon Detector gas alarm and it works on both a short term and long term basis. You can get the short term readings on the easily read radon level display, as well as the long term average levels. It gives the first reading after only 48 hours!
I hope I have given you enough information to convince you to find out if your home is safe, to protect both yourself and your family – and to help me spread the word about this deadly gas that could be surrounding us without us knowing about it!
